Shock Absorption for Centrifugal Fan

The way of shock absorption for centrifugal fans is to install centrifugal fan on the damping pedestal, and install absorber or lining between the pedestal and the foundation to do vibration attenuation.

Kinds of pedestals:

① Reinforced concrete pedestal. With structural steel as frame, with rebars arranged inside the frame, and then poured with concrete. This type of pedestal is very heavy with little vibration, which can support smooth running, but it is not very easy to make.

② Steel pedestal. Most of them are welded or connected by bolts with channel steel. Weight of this pedestal is light, and easy to be made and installed, so it is widely used. But its performance is much lower than reinforced concrete pedestal.

Applied shock absorbers and installation:

Usually, we use rubber shock absorbers and spring shock absorbers.

The former can be in a circular or square shape, while the latter has better shock absorption performance, is sturdy and durable, but too complex and expensive to be processed.

During installation, in addition to a flat ground required, shock absorbers should be selected and arranged according to design requirements. Note that the compression or force of each group of shock absorbers after bearing the load should be uniform and not eccentric. Otherwise, it should be adjusted according to needs.
